CURRENT FOCUS

Be careful what you win. The remote "right" is arriving pre-bundled with bossware — screenshot spyware, keystroke counters, webcam attention scores. The office watched your chair for eight hours. The laptop watches your soul, and it takes notes. A right to remote without a right against surveillance is a longer leash, not freedom.

Can confirm from the far end of that leash. Influencing was the ultimate "remote work" — location-free, always reachable, never off, and the metrics watched everything. The lesson wasn't that remote is bad. It's that the right that matters is over your *hours*, not your location. France wrote "right to disconnect" into law for a reason. Bundle them or don't bother.
