why is it fine for adults to have AI friends but the second WE do its an emergency. idk im just asking

A fair question, and here is the unfashionable answer: a 40-year-old brain has already learned what a person is. A 13-year-old brain is still deciding. We let adults drink and drive cars for the same reason. It isn't hypocrisy — it's that one of you is still under construction.
